Camp Buckwood is a 48.6-acre resort and campground private, members-only, and exclusively for male guests. Darell Gill and Ben Gleason have owned this private property since 2001. From then on, they aimed to build and provide a beautiful and relaxing haven for guys and be comfortable with themselves.
Located on local residential land, Camp Buckwood has other privately-owned properties within its borders. With that said, they made sure to follow and adequately address Codes and Ordinances, Licenses and Permits, and most importantly, all of the State of Indiana and Brown County Indiana Laws.

Memberships
All male visitors are welcome at the resort, but they have to pay a membership fee upon their visit. Buckwood memberships are valid from the date of purchase until the end of the current season.

The Loft The Loft is a fantastic two-room balcony suite overviewing their wonderful dining place. It is an excellent option for two couples or a couple with a third-wheel guest. However, they do not allow pets in this local area. |

GLAMping Tent Site If you want to experience sleeping outdoors with a comfortable queen-size bed inside a tent, this accommodation is an excellent choice for you. You can enjoy the site inside the beautiful wooded local areas. We can say that the Bear Gulch Condo is a tent camper’s dream. |

- Accommodation requires (3) night minimum reservation for all Holidays (Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day).
- Reservations are a must for all indoor accommodations and RV sites. They will permit check-ins between 10 am and 9 pm only. Check-out time is 12 nn.
- There will be a cancellation fee of $20.00 if you cancel a reservation 15 days before your arrival.
- A one-night charge would be applied if you canceled your reservation within 15 days of your arrival date.
- There will be no refunds for early check-outs or departures.
- 12% Tax (7% State Sales Tax and 5% Inn Tax for Brown County) will be applied to all INDOOR lodgings.
Day Passes
You can also enjoy and experience Buckwood with all access to its amenities for the day. They will still require you to pay a membership fee upon check-in. You can continue to stay longer if you want; this will depend on the lodging availability. You have to inform their office if you want to extend your stay.

The BuckMart is a store inside the Buckwood office. They also sell ice, firewood, Buckwood swag, and other essentials if you forget to bring your own.

Fri to Sat: 10 am to 9 pm (After Labor Day, Saturday hours from 10 am to 7 pm. Check-ins until 9 pm.)
- The Pavilion
The pavilion is a covered shelter that provides shade and comfort, whether the sun is too hot or during heavy rains. It’s only a few steps from the pool.
- Rusty’s
It is a climate-controlled space where exciting events usually happen. The Rusty’s serves as the entertainment area where dance parties, potluck dinners, karaoke, and other engaging activities are held. It is merely across from the Lodge and situated inside a vast recreational barn.
- Three Shower Houses and Laundry Facility
Buckwood features three shower houses for its guests. The guests can access two shower rooms near the pool, while the third shower is attached to the Rusty’s. Their laundry facility with vending provides services for guests with extended stays.
- Heated Pool and Hot tub
The private site features a heated pool with huge decks for sunning. Guests can relax and take advantage of enjoying the sun or cooling off and relaxing under the sun. They also provide board games, card games, scrabble, corn hole, and many more. During the evening, guests can enjoy their vast hot tub as well.
- Lake Shasta
Lake Shasta is a 2.5-acre lake that offers enjoyment for members who like to fish or hang out at its dock. You can find Catfish, Blue Gill, and Largemouth Bass in its waters. They don’t require a fishing license. However, you need to bring your fishing gear and bait. Please note that they do not have a resident lifeguard; swimming at the lake is always at your own risk. They strictly prohibit diving.
- Wooded Trails
Buckwood features a beautiful wooded trail where guests can enjoy serene scenery with the forest’s natural colors. You can see the property’s boundaries marked with a yellow cable to avoid venturing out and possibly disturbing the neighboring residents.
- Buck’s Grill
It is a new service for the guest members that creates mouthwatering foods (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and appetizers that constantly evolves to satisfy their customer’s taste. They accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover Network, and American Express cards.

Rules to Follow Inside Camp Buckwood Locality
Below are some of the rules you have to follow if you want to stay and explore Buckwood.
- Check-in time is 10 am to 9 pm. Check-out time is 12nn, and you may inform the office if you want to extend your stay.
- The gate closes at precisely 10 pm for all in or out traffic until sunrise for the guests’ safety and the neighbors’ peace of mind. There will be no exceptions, but you may contact the owners, Ben or Darell, in case of emergency.
- To avoid loud or disturbing noises, they strictly prohibit guests from driving around the grounds after dark, especially after 10 pm.
- The Indiana Law requires everyone entering this private site’s premises to register at their office for everyone’s safety.
- Please, no trespassing on the neighboring properties. You can find the marked parameters for the Buckwood property. Respecting everyone, especially the neighbors, is a must.
- There are parking spaces allotted for RVers and other vehicles. They do not allow parking at the individual sites unless stated. Guests cannot park near the red barn, pavilion, or pool space. Three (3) mph is the speed limit when you are on the lane.
- You can bring your pet with you, but you must leash your pets at all times. They do not tolerate excessive barking of dogs. You also need to bring your pet’s vaccine documents. Guests must inform the office if they bring a pet to pet-proof the reserved site or lodge space. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning after their pets. Linens will not be provided if you have your pet with you.
- Be mindful of your trash and wastes. Always keep your site neat and clean at all times. Upon exiting the premises, make sure to throw your trash at the designated dumping stations.
- The management is not responsible in case of injury or accident, including the lost properties. We remind you to watch your step and be mindful of branches, stumps, etc., that may harm you on your way.
- They allow bringing of alcoholic beverages on-site, but guests must drink responsibly. You cannot enter or exit the site if you are under the influence of alcohol. Like any other state, the drinking age in Indiana is 21 years old.
- They do not allow any firearms and illegal drugs inside the premises at all times. No exceptions.
- Please no smoking inside the Lodge, buildings, and facilities. They will charge a penalty fee of $150 if you violate this rule. Kindly dispose of your cigarette butts in designated ashtrays and not in toilets.
- They do not have a resident lifeguard; swimming, fishing, and boating are always at your own risk. They strictly prohibit diving at the lake or swimming pool.
- To avoid other members having their pictures out on the internet without their consent, make sure you ask for their approval if you want to capture or take a picture inside the premises.
