How to Make a Reservation
Reservations and bookings for the site have to make up to one year in advance or before arrival. The site basis’ booking window would be on the same date one year before or from the date of arrival at the campground. The new date begins, for both the Online bookings and Call Center, at the opening time of the Call Center. Thus, all internet users may not have an earlier “window” for booking than callers.
The bookings must have to make up for the last day to arrive. For Call Center users, the cutoff is close-of-business that day before arrival. For Internet bookings, the cutoff is dead of night that day before arrival.

Cost to Book
If you have already decided to visit the featured area, you have to know that the cost to book in a specific campground varies depending on their state or county rules and regulations. And for Lums Pond State Park, there is a fee required in Bear DE when you enter the campground. There are annual passes already available on their site. So, you have to pay $4 per day of staying for those who are residents of the State. On the other hand, for non-residents, you have to prepare to pay $8 per day for staying in the campground.
You also have to pay 140 USD per dorm/ nightly rate for Camps I and II of Delaware Residents. For Non-Resident, you have to pay a nightly rate of 180 USD per room. In Camp III, the Officer’s Club, you have to pay a nightly rate of 250 USD per dorm of Del Residents. For Non-Resident, you have to pay a nightly rate of 310 USD per room. You have to prepare a nightly rate of $3.00/per person for Old Youth Camps, whether you are a Resident/Non-Resident.
The entrance fee’s availability, listings, and effectiveness are from March 1 to the 30th day of November. As the campground staff suggested, you may give your fee via credit card. However, you could pay through checks if you made a booking more than 15 days before your arrival time.
Overall, the campground displayed fees do not reflect any attribute fees, including electrical or water hookups, taxes, discounts, or total charges. The weekly fees may not be available for all Lums Pond State Park sites.
Major Features

The Lums Pond State Park is the largest pond of freshwater built around Delaware. It is a 1,790 acres campground on the north side of the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. It features the pond itself, covering almost 200 acres, where you could enjoy the sports facilities, fishing, and hiking trails. The campground would not make provision for swimming.
You could go fishing and boat rentals that provide recreation in water-bound during the summer seasons. There are also two piers and a launching boat ramp, which enables you and is helpful for your easy access to the water.
Before the pond’s existence, St. George’s Creek flowed beautifully through the hardwood forest and was used by several Native Americans as hunting camps. In the early 1800s, they dammed the creek when they built the C & D canal. So, they used the water from the pond to power a small mill and filled the canal’s locks. It would be helpful for you to look in the entire park using the treetops instead of walking or riding a vehicle for a tour. The Go Ape Zip Lining course has treetop crossings, rope ladders, four zip lines, and Tarzan swings that may take you over the pond. The age bracket that could use the main Course is aging ten and up. It is a 2 to 3-hour adventure all over the park. Pond State Park Camp
The newly-renovated campground offers sites with four-horse camps without hookups, as well as three-point hookups (electric, water, and drain). Rules and Regulation at Lums Pond State Park
There are standard rules and regulations given in any State Park or campground to maintain the site’s peace and orderliness as you stay in the park. We already listed it to read and understand to avoid problems in the featured area.
- Some services and activities may not be available during the winter, like water areas and water activities. So, you could contact the Park Office at 302-368-6989 before arrival for complete details about the rules during the winter season.
- The Check-in time is exactly 1:00 in the afternoon, and the check-out is at noon. You have to be in the place or leave the place at the given time by the organization.
- If there is any case that you may arrive late at the place for about 24 hours or more, you have to notify the park organization, or else, they may cancel your booking. You must have respect for those campers that are set up at the campground.
- There is a rule on the campground that they only let one vehicle per campground. All additional vehicles, boat trailers, etc., must park in the overflow parking space appointed.
- Each campground let only up to eight people maximum. There is an additional $2.00 charge per day for each person over the first four people.
- The campground’s quiet hours are between 10:00 in the evening until 7:00 in the morning. Generators would not let operate during the quiet hours on the campground.
- All the 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM Visitors of the campground must pay their vehicle’s entrance fee. The fee season is from March 1 until the 30th day of November.
- If you want to bring your pet to the camp, the pet must be on six feet leash at all times. The pet owners must clean up the waste after their pet. Pets without owners and left unattended at any time in the campground not made provision by the park’s organization. You are tying or chaining your pet to any posts or trees on the campground, not making provision by the organization.
- You have to remove all trash on the campground. There is a dumpster provided at the campground entrance. Excessive litter and burning trash are also strictly prohibited by campground organizations. The organization also prohibits the disposal or dumping of the dish, bathwater, septic wastes, or other effluents on the ground.
- The campground organization also prohibits cutting, chopping, or damaging bushes and trees in any way. Downed limbs or wood may not make provision for gathering. You do not need to bring firewood from other states in Del. You can purchase the firewood at the campground.
- You should not tie any ropes, clotheslines, or cords to any trees or shrubs in the campground.
- Upon riding the bicycles during nighttime, you have to equip yourself with reflectors and headlights to avoid accidents.
- No one would possess, carry or display any type of air guns, slingshot, paintball guns, firearms, fireworks, archery gears, or martial art weapons inside the campground.
- All kayaks, rowboats, paddleboats, and canoes are available from May until September in the campground area.
- During events, vehicular travel on the campground will be restricted/controlled. There may be up to a 15-minute wait to enter or leave the park.
- Yurt furniture and gears you may not remove from the campground. Renters will be held liable for any damage to the Yurt tent, furniture, decking/gears.
- There is no cigarette allowed or smoking inside the yurts.
- There are no pets allowed to stay inside the yurts.
- Before bringing your pet on the site, you must provide papers that prove that your pet has current rabies vaccinations and complete vaccinations. You also have to consider your pet’s cleanliness and be free from fleas, ticks, mange, and worms.
- All your pet food must be in a sealable container to avoid attracting animals and rodents. You have to store and place it inside a vehicle, lodge, camp unit, or stateroom and carry it out when you are about to leave the park.

What to Be Aware Of
According to the review, you have to pay a cancellation fee in this campground once you cancel the booking, and it occurs thirty-one working days or more before the date of scheduled arrival. You could refund the balance of fees.
The equivalent value of the cancellation fee is the same as the one-day stay at the campground. If the cancellation is within 30 working days of the scheduled arrival time, the organization may charge you. But you could refund the balance of the fee.
However, the cancellation of the yurt, camping stateroom, or standard camping booking would charge you a $35 fee. But you may also refund the balance of your fee.
A $300 fee only applies once you cancel your booking in the waterfront lodge within 121 days or more in advance of the scheduled arrival time. The customer may forfeit one-half of the rental fee published if they cancel the booking not less than 121 days before the customer’s scheduled arrival time.
For all early departures, they could forfeit all the balances. The responsible party for cancellation refunds is the Division of Park and Recreation or the Call center. They are the only party provisional to issue the refunds.
The park reserves the right to hold any of the stateroom, yurt, or campsite 24 hours after your expected scheduled arrival time before canceling your booking and returning to inventory.
The issuance of the balance of fees paid refund happens due to the cancellations of bookings.
